Be River Proud

Last Updated on January 30, 2024

The San Antonio River Authority (River Authority) staff is committed to safe, clean, enjoyable creeks and rivers but we need YOU to help us protect and preserve area natural resources for future generations. One action you can take is to join the River Authority and the San Antonio River Foundation by becoming a River Warrior. This program aims to build a volunteer community that supports and strives toward healthy waterways for the benefit of the flora, fauna, and people of the San Antonio River Basin. There are many other ways you can get involved, like supporting the Don’t Let Litter Trash Your River initiative! We want to highlight your positive actions, so please share with us pictures or videos of you and your loved ones on social media using #BeRiverProud. Once a month, we’ll feature your stories on our blog.

This month we’re featuring a couple of cute four-legged visitors of the San Antonio River to help us spread an important message for everyone to follow!

Scoop the Poop!

We love seeing pets enjoy the San Antonio River! For the health of area creeks and rivers, we strongly encourage pet owners to do their part and Scoop the Poop! Pet waste is harmful to the ecosystem and can lead to high levels of bacteria in waterways. Visitors can find stations located throughout the River Authority parks and trails so they can dispose of their pet waste properly and help us keep creeks and rivers safe, clean, and enjoyable.

Meet Callie of @its.callies_world, a happy Goldendoodle that enjoys adventures at Confluence Park. Thanks to our partnerships with Mobile Om, guests can enjoy free yoga at the park multiple times a month. As a bonus, our non-profit partner, the San Antonio River Foundation, hosts a free Puppy Yoga event once a month for the public!
