My love for the outdoors has been a constant throughout my life. Growing up, one of my dreams was to travel the world and explore everything from forests to a tundra.  Another dream was to do what I could to protect the environment, so that it could be available for everyone to enjoy. I am slowing living out my dream of traveling, but I am living my dream of doing my part to protect the environment daily.

Working at the River Authority has literally been a dream come true. Every day I am inspired by the work my team and colleagues do to make sure we have safe, clean and enjoyable creeks and rivers. From spreading awareness on the many benefits of green infrastructure, analyzing and studying the water, to coordinating volunteer events, the River Authority works tirelessly to make sure everyone has access to safe, clean, and enjoyable water.

Throughout my life, I have found myself naturally drawn to the San Antonio River.  Some of my earliest memories were trips to San Antonio and walking along the Downtown Reach of the San Antonio River Walk. I remember watching the river barges and ducks and enjoying every minute. I now get to work with a wonderful team to spread awareness on how to keep that environment clean and safe-not only for the ducks, but for us, so that we can continue to sit and enjoy a barge ride on the river!

Whether you are on a peaceful hike along on the Mission Reach, enjoying a picnic in Helton Nature Park, or viewing some art along a walk in San Pedro Creek Culture Park, there are countless ways you can enjoy the San Antonio River and connect with area waterways. The River Authority works and maintains many aspects of the San Antonio River Basin in four counties! I encourage everyone to follow the River Authority on our social media channels and to explore our website to learn more about the San Antonio River Basin, upcoming events, and how you can keep the San Antonio River safe and clean.
