The San Antonio River Authority (River Authority) is collaborating with the City of San Antonio for the 2017-2022 Bond project Panther Springs Creek Restoration. The creek restoration efforts will focus on improving the water and sediment conveyance of the existing natural channel. The project is located north of Loop 1604 and extends along an approximately 2,440 feet portion of Panther Springs Creek near Blanco Road. This project includes the design, construction, and post-construction monitoring of stream improvements to address degraded stream conditions including ponding on Panther Springs Creek.
Paddling Trail Closure: SASPAMCO
Recently, SAWS released a limited amount of water with reduced oxygen levels which impacted water quality. While the oxygen levels are returning to normal, the River Authority is closing the SASPAMCO paddling trail, which begins in Southern Bexar County and extends into Wilson County. Additionally, River Crossing Park will be closed along with the lower sections of Graytown and Helton Nature Park.
