River Authority Issues Last Call for River Clicks Photo Contest Entries

WHAT:  The San Antonio River Authority (River Authority) is hosting the 4th annual River Clicks photo contest and is encouraging the public to get out and enjoy the San Antonio River Basin’s natural treasures. Participants can submit entries in several categories to win outdoor recreation prize packages valued up to $500 each and $1,000 in the Special Category. This year’s special category is the John W. Helton San Antonio River Nature Park in Floresville, TX. Each participant can submit one entry per category. Deadline to submit photo entries is Sunday, May 9 and the public can visit www.riverclicks.org to view contest rules and submit an entry.

WHEN:            Sunday, May 9, 2021 11:59 p.m.

WHERE:         Entries can be submitted online at www.riverclicks.org.

Due to TxDOT construction on the HWY 59 Bridge, the HWY 59 landing site is closed until further notice. However, the Goliad Paddling Trail remains open, and paddlers can still access the river at the Riverdale, Ferry Street, and Goliad State Park landings.

Please plan accordingly and check back for updates.

SASPAMCO Paddling Trail Temporarily Closed

November 20, 2024

Staff have removed two large log jams just downstream of Helton Nature Park, keeping the southern portion of the SASPAMCO Paddling Trail temporarily closed. Staff are working to contact adjacent landowners to support a land-based removal solution.

The SASPAMCO paddling trail is open from River Crossing Park to Helton Nature Park.
*Please Note: Paddling Trail from Helton Nature Park to HWY 97 is still closed due to blockages.
