Amy Zola

Amy Zola is the Manager of the Planning and Project Management Office and has been with the River Authority since November 2017. Key strengths she brings to this role include leadership of programs, strategic planning and strong communication skills that Amy has gained in her more than 20 years of project management experience.

Amy’s experience includes serving as the Executive Director of a non-profit called Environment Erie; which focused on environmental education, implementation of BMP’s through various cost share programs, and stream restoration. Prior to that she was the manager of the grants and special projects program for Erie County Economic Development Corporation. Before her role with ECEDC, she was the watershed manager for the local soil and conservation district where she wrote and implemented EPA Implementation Plans and coordinated the operation and development of the 33 acre Headwaters Park.

Amy is one course away from completing her Master of Business Administration in Business Analytics. She holds an Undergraduate Degree from Penn State University in Biology with a minor in Mathematics and a Master’s Certificate of Non-profit Administration. Amy also is a certified Project Management Profession as an Agile Certified Practitioner. She was previously recognized on the 40 Under 40 list by the Pennsylvania Environmental Council and has participated in several leadership programs.

Amy greatly treasures her time with her five kids and husband camping, traveling and entertaining family and friends.

SASPAMCO Paddling Trail Temporarily Closed

Staff have removed two large log jams just downstream of Helton Nature Park, keeping the southern portion of the SASPAMCO Paddling Trail temporarily closed. Staff are working to contact adjacent landowners to support a land-based removal solution.

Goliad Paddling Trail Alert

NOTICE: HWY 59 Landing Site Closed

Due to TxDOT construction on the HWY 59 Bridge, the HWY 59 landing site is closed until further notice. However, the Goliad Paddling Trail remains open, and paddlers can still access the river at the Riverdale, Ferry Street, and Goliad State Park landings.

Please plan accordingly and check back for updates.
