Kendall Hayes

Kendall Hayes serves as the San Antonio River Authority’s Chief of Staff. She joined the River Authority’s Government Affairs team in 2021 and has worked with elected officials and stakeholders across the San Antonio River Basin. She managed multiple oversight committees and planning groups through local improvement and park development projects, including the completion of the San Pedro Creek Culture Park and the adoption of the inaugural San Antonio Regional Flood Plan. As Chief of Staff, Kendall coordinates cross-functional projects and leads strategic initiatives, both internally and externally.

Prior to working at the River Authority, Kendall worked in the district office for a U.S. Representative and at the City of San Antonio. Kendall earned her Bachelor of Science from Trinity University. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family in San Antonio’s parks and greenways.

Parks Alert: Helton Nature Park

Helton Nature Park will be closed beginning on August 26th through August 28th due to paving and seal coat work at the park. We apologize for the inconvenience.

SASPAMCO Paddling Trail Temporarily Closed

Staff have removed two large log jams just downstream of Helton Nature Park, keeping the southern portion of the SASPAMCO Paddling Trail temporarily closed. Staff are working to contact adjacent landowners to support a land-based removal solution.

Goliad Paddling Trail Alert

NOTICE: HWY 59 Landing Site Closed

Due to TxDOT construction on the HWY 59 Bridge, the HWY 59 landing site is closed until further notice. However, the Goliad Paddling Trail remains open, and paddlers can still access the river at the Riverdale, Ferry Street, and Goliad State Park landings.

Please plan accordingly and check back for updates.
