SASPAMCO PADDLING TRAIL
Out of an abundance of caution following recent CDC recommendations and guidance, the San Antonio River Authority (River Authority) is directing staff to work remotely and self-quarantine through April 5, 2020. During this time, River Authority parks and trails will remain open and staff will continue to provide the necessary services to keep our parks and trails safe, clean, and enjoyable. However, to maximize self-quarantine procedures per the CDC guidance, the River Authority is limiting paddling trail inspections. Currently, there are known log jams along the Saspamco Paddling Trail. As a result, we are encouraging paddlers to refrain from using this trail. We will restore paddling trail inspections and remove any log jams as quickly and safely as feasible. Rivers are ever-changing dynamic systems with inherent dangers, so please proceed at your own risk and plan your trip so that your paddling skills are equal to the river conditions. More safety tips are here.
We will continue to monitor public health recommendations and make additional decisions and announcements as necessary. Please continue to follow us via our social media channels and visit our website for updates.
