About Us

What does the San Antonio River Authority do?

Funded by property taxes, the authority upholds a commitment to “providing safe, clean and enjoyable creeks and rivers,” which in its 83 years has led to a multitude of partnerships, research initiatives, and projects that integrate public health with ecosystems and sustainability with economic development.

Upcoming Freeze Alert!

Due to the incoming freeze, all of our park water fountains and restrooms will be temporarily shut down over the next couple of days. We're planning to have everything back up and running by February 22nd. If you're heading out to enjoy our parks, please plan accordingly and stay safe in the cold weather! Thank you for your understanding and patience!

Facility Closure Alert – Riverfront Parkway

The restroom at Riverfront Parkway is currently closed due to a water leak. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we work to resolve the issue. Thank you for your understanding!

Trail Closure: Museum Reach at Pearl

The area near Pearl North Bridge and Museum Reach trail under bridge on west bank is currently closed. Please refer to the map below for alternative routes.

Stem Density Efforts

Please be advised that trails near the Confluence Park and Conception Park area will be temporarily closed due to ongoing Stem Density efforts. We appreciate your cooperation and ask that you remain mindful of workers and closures when in the vicinity. Thank you for your patience as we work to improve our natural spaces!  Stem Density efforts in the Eagle Land segment will be extended through the end of February 2025.

SASPAMCO Paddling Trail Temporarily Closed

Staff have removed two large log jams just downstream of Helton Nature Park, keeping the southern portion of the SASPAMCO Paddling Trail temporarily closed. Staff are working to contact adjacent landowners to support a land-based removal solution.

The SASPAMCO paddling trail is open from River Crossing Park to Helton Nature Park. *Please Note: Paddling Trail from Helton Nature Park to HWY 97 is still closed due to blockages.
