River Authority Announces Mission Reach Trail Closures for Necessary Erosion Repair Work

WHAT: The San Antonio River Authority (River Authority) announces necessary erosion repair work along the banks of the Mission Reach section of San Antonio River Walk which will close a portion of both the hike and bike trail and paddling trail. The contractor will close the west bank hike and bike trail from Lone Star Blvd to the first pedestrian bridge. Pedestrians and cyclists can enter the trail from the east bank at Lone Star Blvd. Additionally, the paddling trail will be closed from Lone Star Blvd. through the confluence of the San Antonio River and San Pedro Creek. Paddlers can enter the river at the Concepcion Park access point and travel south.

WHEN: Monday, April 13 – late July

WHERE: Closures include:

  • Mission Reach hike and bike trail west bank from Lone Star Blvd to first pedestrian bridge.
  • Mission Reach paddling trail from Lone Star Blvd. through the confluence of San Pedro Creek.

WHO:  San Antonio River Authority and Jerdon Enterprises, L.P.
