QUÉ: The San Antonio River Authority (River Authority) and project partners invite the community to take part in the opening festivities for Escondido Creek Parkway which will take place virtually and in-person October 15-17. The Escondido Creek Parkway, in the City of Kenedy, will offer recreational opportunities for all Karnes County residents and the surrounding community. It is the River Authority’s first park in Karnes County. With its opening, the River Authority will now have a nature-based park in each of the four counties throughout its jurisdiction. Recreational amenities at the Escondido Creek Parkway include a multi-purpose hike and bike trail that is over one-mile long and is surrounded by beautiful Texan native landscaping. Additional amenities include: a playground, skate park, splash pad, pavilion providing ample shade, an amphitheater, picnic tables, park benches, monuments to Parkway donors, and parking. Following the festivities, the park will officially open to the public on Sunday, October 18.

DÓNDE: 322 N. Sunset Strip, Kenedy, TX  78119. Registration for the park tours is required by calling (210) 302-3228. Spots will fill up on a first come, first serve basis.

OMS:  Project partners include the San Antonio River Authority, Kenedy 4B Corporation, Kenedy Chamber of Commerce, the City of Kenedy and the San Antonio River Foundation.
