(SAN ANTONIO)- The San Antonio River Authority (River Authority) Board of Directors and staff celebrated the contributions of two retiring Bexar County At-Large board members Hector Morales and Deb Bolner Prost for their unwavering dedication and commitment to the communities of Bexar, Wilson, Barnes and Goliad counties.

Hector Morales, with 18 years on the Board of Directors, notably served as Vice-Chair of the Fiscal Committee from 2010–2013 and Board Secretary from 2017–2019. He played a key role in decision making, contributing significantly to projects like the Museum Reach, Mission Reach Ecosystem Restoration and San Pedro Creek Culture Park. Morales played a key role in expanding nature-based park resources across the four-county jurisdiction, and influenced notable projects such as Branch River Park, John William Helton Nature Park, Graytown Park, Escondido Creek Parkway, Hendrick Arnold Nature Park and Trueheart Ranch Nature Park.

Deb Bolner Prost, a prominent civic leader in Bexar County, served on the Board of Directors from 2017 to 2023. During her tenure, she showcased exceptional leadership as the chair of both the Operations Committee (2019–2021) and the Utilities Task Force (2021–2023). Holding officer positions on the Fiscal, Executive, and Communications committees–she positively impacted various aspects of the River Authority’s work.

With a background in branding and communications, Deb enhanced the River Authority’s strategic focus on effective public communications that made a lasting impact on outreach efforts. Before her role on the Board, she contributed significantly to the San Antonio River Foundation’s Board of Directors. As leader of the Utilities Task Force, Deb facilitated substantial developments towards expanding the Salitrillo and Martinez IV Wastewater Treatment Plants in northeast Bexar County.

“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Hector Morales and Deb Bolner Prost for their contributions and unwavering dedication during their service on the Board of Directors,” said Jim Campbell, Chairman of the Board. “Their leadership and commitment have left an indelible mark on the San Antonio River Authority, shaping the course of our initiatives for the benefit of the communities we serve.”

New board members will be announced in January 2024. For information on the San Antonio River Authority, visit sariverauthority.org
