SUMMARY:Race the River 2024 - Mission Reach
DESCRIPTION:**WEATHER UPDATE** \nWe are watching the weather forecast closely as we approach the event and are optimistic about conditions. Current forecasts show a high likelihood of rain on Saturday\, leading into early Sunday morning\, but ending before the race is scheduled to begin. As of now\, we are proceeding with Race the River: Mission Reach as planned\, rain or shine\, with the possibility of a delayed start if conditions are deemed unsafe. Participant safety is our top priority\, and we will not proceed with starting the race until flow in the river is at an acceptable level. Delay announcements will be made in person at the start line and Check-in time for racers will remain the same\, as scheduled at 7AM-8AM. If the possibility of a delayed race start does not fit with your travel plans or you are uncomfortable with potential conditions of the river\, please let us know and we will remove you from the racer list and issue a refund. \nCheck out the Race the River information page for more details. \nSign Up for this Race! \nThe San Antonio River Authority\, together with the San Antonio River Foundation\, welcomes you to the Race the River Paddle Series!  Canoe and kayakers of all skill levels are invited to participate at each adventure race throughout the San Antonio River Basin \nThe Mission Reach Race is the first race of the series.  This 7-mile pro race\, or 5-mile amateur race\, will take you through Texas’ largest ecological restoration project along the extension of the San Antonio Riverwalk. \nAn award ceremony and racer celebrations will follow each race.  Commemorative patches will be given to all finishers\, trophies and prizes will be given to top finishers of each category.
