About the Park

Branch River Nature Park links the historical with the natural with a good dose of fun! Grab a snack from Goliad’s historic courthouse square and have quick picnic under the heritage oak trees. Watch the kids put down their video games and discover real games on the playground. Test your skills on the 9-hole disc golf course. The park is a close connection to the Angel of Goliad hike and bike trail, connecting you to Goliad State Park and General Zaragoza’s Birthplace.

Branch River Nature Park is also a popular spot for events. Check out the finish line party after the Tour de Goliad bike ride, the Cinco de Mayo Piñata Making and Community Piñata Breaking Party or school field trips hosted by the River Authority’s Education Team. A quick walk through the Angel of Goliad Hike & Bike Trail is a great way to do some birding and photography. The park is a seamless link to Ferry Street River Access Site on the San Antonio River if you want to do some paddling or fishing.
