Tracey Tafoya is Manager of Brand and Public Communications. Her leadership includes managing the agency’s public and media relations activities. She oversees a team of communications and events professionals that are helping to advance the agency’s community engagement objectives and enhance its reputation. Her team collaborates with operational teams throughout the agency to share the stories of how the River Authority is working to make our creeks and rivers safe, clean and enjoyable with a focus on inspiring and engaging the community to play a role.
Before joining the River Authority, she managed enterprise-wide stakeholder engagement and community programs for a Fortune 100 company. She led strategic communications and marketing plans, content development, program planning, and events all designed to elevate awareness and increase engagement. Prior to that she led communications and corporate philanthropy programs at the largest, investor-owned utility company in California. Throughout her career, her work has been focused on helping to define and inspire deeper, purpose-driven organizations and company narratives.
Tracey holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication from the University of California, Berkeley. Her professional development includes continuing education in a variety of areas such as Change Management, Strategic Leadership, and Executive Leadership.
In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband and their three small children.
